Packers’ weakness following Draft: Wide receivers

I’m not even sure you can say the Packers have a no.1 wide receiver at this point. Sure, somebody is going to have to be listed at the top of the depth chart, but it’s going to be a committee approach this season.

Green Bay used three draft picks on wide receivers with second-round pick Christian Watson expected to have the biggest impact this season (don’t count out fourth-rounder Romeo Doubs). Still, the Packers are in big trouble with Sammy Watkins, Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb as the three veterans leading the group with youngsters in Watson, Doubs Amari Rodgers and Samori Toure trying to earn their keep. The Packers will definitely be depending on Aaron Rodgers and Matt Lafleur to lift this group up this season.

Packers’ strength following Draft: Running game

The Packers have one of the best one-two punches at running back in Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon. Between the two of them, this duo can do just about anything. Jones wasn’t as explosive in 2021, but that could return as Green Bay will lean more on these two than in the past. Where Jones is lightning quick, Dillon can run over guys at the second and third levels. Don’t be surprised to see LaFleur employ both of them on the field more often this season.
