With the 2022 NFL Draft in our rearview mirror, it’s time to take a look at the Green Bay Packers as a whole. They have certain obvious flaws on this year’s team, but they are hoping the sum will be greater than their parts.

With the Packers’ Super Bowl Window still cracked open, let’s look at three of their biggest strengths and weaknesses.

Here are six strengths and weaknesses for the Green Bay Packers following the completion of the 2022 NFL Draft.

Packers’ weakness following Draft: Tight End

Green Bay was able to re-sign Robert Tonyan following an ACL tear that cost him most of the 2021 season–that’s a start but there’s no telling how or when he’s going to return. Behind him, Marcedes Lewis is another year older and Josiah Deguara and Tyler Davis are big question marks. It’s not clear how much the Packers are going to get from this position as there are a lot more question marks than answers at this point.

Packers’ strength following Draft: Big men

The Packers have good depth up front on both their offensive and defensive lines. Defense is probably the biggest surprise, as that’s been a position of weakness in recent seasons. However, they added Jarran Reed in free agency and used the 28th overall pick on Devonte Wyatt. Those two will join Kenny Clark and the resurgent Dean Lowry as the four primary defensive linemen. TJ Slaton and Jack Heflin are also solid contributors at the bottom of the depth chart.

Offensively, Green Bay clearly prioritizes their line. They’ve used a lot of draft capital on the position in recent seasons and that includes the 2022 class as well. With the three additional picks spent on the offensive line, the Packers have a deep and talented offensive line. The only question is if they can all stay healthy.
