Should the Green Bay Packers CB Depth be a concern?
When it comes to the Green Bay Packers starting cornerbacks, they have arguably the best trio in all of football with Jaire Alexander, Eric Stokes, and Rasul Douglas.
But who is behind them on the depth chart?
Currently, the other cornerbacks on the roster include Shemar Jean-Charles, Keisean Nixon, Kiondre Thomas, Kabion Ento, and recent UDFA signing Raleigh Texada–all of who have no or very little NFL experience.
At the moment, the Green Bay Packers are an injury away from having to rely heavily on an inexperienced player. There is also the question of, who is going to play in the slot when Alexander is on the boundary? The only “true” slot cornerback on the roster is Jean-Charles–and we don’t know where he is at in his development.
It’s for these reasons that I listed cornerback as a position that the Green Bay Packers could still look to add to in free agency. Even having a veteran presence to lean on if needed can be incredibly valuable.
As good as the top three cornerbacks on this Green Bay Packers team are, the rest of the depth chart is filled with question marks–and we saw just last season how important cornerback depth can be.
