Will the Green Bay Packers add any more free agents?
According to Over the Cap, the Green Bay Packers have $14.05 million in available cap space at the moment. A good portion of that will be consumed when the Packers sign the draft class and they’ll also need cap space to eventually sign a practice squad.
However, there are a few cap-creating moves still available as well–including an extension for Jaire Alexander and adding voided years to Allen Lazard’s one-year RFA deal, once that is signed and official.
While the roster appears to be pretty well set, Andy Herman of Packer Report made a good point, saying that key players from the 2021 team, such as Corey Bojorquez, Rasul Douglas, De’Vondre Campbell, and Dennis Kelly, were not on the team at this time a year ago. As Brian Gutekunst says, roster building is a 365-day-a-year job.
There still may be a few big wide receiver names available, but I tend to think that the Packers are done adding to that position with really all of the roster spots accounted for. Some positions that they could potentially add include edge rusher, tight end, safety, or cornerback.
So to take a guess at answering the question, I would guess that, yes, there will be another addition or two incoming.
