Packers who lost the most from the 2022 NFL Draft: Krys Barnes

After fighting to earn the starting inside linebacker spot for the Packers in 2020, Barnes has continued to slide down the depth chart and will find himself at no. 3 to begin the 2022 campaign.

Barnes is a nice player to have for depth, but isn’t talented enough to start for a team with big aspirations on the defensive side of the ball. He’s racked up over 500 defensive snaps in each of the past two seasons and was able to significantly improve his play behind De’Vondre Campbell in 2021.

Now, with the selection of Quay Walker 22nd overall, he’ll see himself third on the depth chart and won’t get nearly that same amount of playing time. Walker will present a significant athletic upgrade over Barnes and Green Bay’s defense will be much better because of it.
