The Grade: C

To be clear, nobody ever knows the true grade of draft picks until at least three years later. Therefore, this is our best guess based on the Packers’ needs and where they selected the players they did.

Walker was, by far, the biggest head-scratcher. Sure, the Packers needed depth at inside linebacker, but probably not a first-round type player. They are probably planning on the same succession plan they implemented with Rashan Gary, but it’s still difficult to understand this pick. There were at least two very good edge rushers available on the board and edge is a much bigger need for Green Bay. Furthermore, Walker was the consensus 52nd best player on draft boards across the internet. Obviously, Green Bay knows more than draft media, but that’s not a good look.

Wyatt is a much better pick and brings this grade up significantly. Many were projecting him to the Packers due to the athleticism he brings to the field and his fit in the Packers’ defense. He won’t put up huge counting stats but the ripple effects of his play will be felt at all three levels.
