The Bad: No wide receivers, devalued positions

There was a run of wide receivers from picks no. 8 to 12 where four were grabbed and numerous teams moved up to make those selections. In total, there were six receivers gone before Green Bay was on the board at no. 22 and it would’ve been a reach for them to grab one of the remaining at that point (there wasn’t another receiver taken in the first round after the Packers’ pick). The Packers are going to have to target one or two early on Day 2 (at least, I think).

The Packers haven’t valued the inside linebacker position for years so it was odd to see them grab one with their top pick. Especially after they re-signed De’Vondre Campbell to a five-year extension. Especially especially since Utah linebacker Deven Lloyd–largely considered the best inside linebacker in the draft–was on the board.
