Bold prediction for Packers in NFL Draft: Draft three defensive players in first two days

The Packers were able to keep De’Vondre Campbell and Rasul Douglas in free agency, giving them the continuity of a defensive unit that had some very good moments in 2021 (including their dominant playoff performance). This could signal a turn for a team that once focused primarily on their offensive firepower.

As it currently stands, Green Bay has two first-rounders, two second-rounders, and one third-round selection–giving them five total picks in the first two days. Although they appear set on the surface at many positions on defense, they will likely use most of those early picks to continue to revamp that side of the ball.

The Packers’ early targets could include another safety, an edge rusher and a defensive lineman. Don’t be surprised to see them grab a prospect at all three spots and go all in on their defensive identity in 2022.
