Packers Penultimate 2022 Mock Draft Roundup & Takeaways

Green Bay Packers Mock Drafts No. 4 & 5
Luke Easterling – Draft Wire
Pick 22: Chris Olave, WR, Ohio State
Pick 28: Bernhard Raimann, OT, Central Michigan
Thoughts: Pick 22 would have Packers fans everywhere rejoicing. Green Bay needs a go-to, high volume, boundary target, who can win at three levels and line up on both sides of the field, and Chris Olave is that player.
Like Jahan Dotson, Raimann is a very popular pick for the Green Bay Packers in these mock drafts; however, he will turn 25-years-old during his rookie season. Since 2009, the Packers haven’t drafted a first-round player who was older than 22, and since 2015, only one of their first-round picks has been older than 21.
Brad Spielberger – PFF
Pick 22: Treylon Burks, WR, Arkansas
Pick 28: Tyler Smith, OT, Tulsa
Thoughts: As already discussed, Burks has the size that the Packers want at receiver, and he’d be a good fit in the LaFleur system–basically, find a way to get him the ball in space. But he didn’t test well, and Green Bay still needs a high volume outside target.
The interesting pick here is Tyler Smith, who many draft analysts have going in Round 2; however, Smith is a very Packers-esque selection. He plays a premiere position, is 21-years-old, is a good athlete, and has good size for an offensive tackle. Admittedly, he is a bit raw and may need time to develop, but he is loaded with upside.
