6 Realistic Green Bay Packers Draft Predictions

Prediction No. 2: Green Bay Packers draft at least two OL
We saw last season just how important offensive line depth can be for a team. Due to injuries, the Green Bay Packers utilized seven different offensive line configurations over the course of the season. As expected, this unit wasn’t nearly as dominant as they were in 2020, but all things considered, they held up relatively well.
As we look at the Packers’ offensive line unit this season, the starting five seems pretty well set, but this group is very thin when it comes to depth. The only healthy options at tackle are David Bakhtiari and Yosh Nijman, while the backups along the interior include Michal Menet, Cole Van Lanen, and Jake Hanson, all of whom are late-round picks with minimal NFL experience–so the need at both positions is certainly there.
Brian Gutekunst has been in charge of four drafts now, and in all four, he has selected at least one offensive lineman, with six selections in just the last two drafts. Given the importance of having robust offensive line depth coupled with Gutey’s history of addressing the position, not to mention that the Packers have the second-most picks in the draft, I’m predicting that Green Bay selects at least two offensive linemen in this draft.
