The good & bad from Milwaukee Bucks Game 1 Victory
By Todd Welter
Jrue Holiday had an okay night for the Milwaukee Bucks
For the first three quarters, Holiday looked more like Eric Bledsoe in the playoffs. Holiday was having trouble making shots and was turning the ball over at the worst times.
Holiday finished strong as he scored nine of his 15 points in the fourth quarter.
Holiday and Lopez combined to make up for Giannis being held scoreless in the final quarter. That helped pull off the victory.
While Holiday struggled offensively through three quarters, he was pretty solid on defense throughout the game.
Khris Middleton had a bad game
Middleton was great in last year’s run to the NBA Championship. He started the repeat quest with one of his worst playoff games.
Middleton finished with 11 points on 4-of-13 shooting, made one three-pointer, and had seven turnovers.
Caruso made Middleton’s night miserable. He practically erased Middleton from the Bucks’ offense. Middleton could not get any separation.
Middleton has been bothered recently by a sore wrist. Still, he is a three-time All-Star, an Olympic gold medalist, and an NBA Champion, and he let Caruso dominate him.
Caruso is an excellent defensive player, but Middleton still should be good enough to not let Caruso take him out of the offense.
Hopefully, Middleton’s wrist gets a little better and Budenholzer can draw up some plays to make sure Caruso is not the primary defender on Middleton. The good thing about Middleton is when he does have an off night, he usually responds in the next game with a terrific performance. It would be nice to see the Milwaukee Bucks also play much better than they did in Game 1.
