Giannis Antetokoumpo had a good night for the Milwaukee Bucks despite battling foul trouble in the second half

Giannis scored a game-high 27 points and pulled down 16 rebounds. The Bulls simply do not have a player who can defend him.

Giannis should have had a great night, but he battled foul trouble throughout the second half. He picked up his fifth foul early in the fourth quarter. Giannis failed to score in the final quarter as he had to spend most of it being substituted in and out to avoid that sixth foul.

He almost picked up that final foul when it appeared he committed an over-the-back on Patrick Williams but the referees swallowed the whistle.

If Giannis can avoid foul trouble the rest of the series, he looks set to dominate the Bulls.

Brook Lopez and Bobby Portis filled the scoring void

Since Giannis was subbing in and out and not scoring in the fourth quarter, the Milwaukee Bucks needed someone to step up on offense. Khris Middleton–we will get to him later–was having an off night, but Brook Lopez came through and picked up the slack.

After Alex Caruso’s layup trimmed the Bucks’ lead to one late in the fourth quarter, Lopez came up with a big bucket with 1:24 left in the game. Lopez missed most of the season with a back injury. Luckily for the Bucks, he healed up in time for the playoffs.

Milwaukee Bucks head coach Mike Budenholzer then went with Portis to come in as the sub for Giannis. It was an interesting substitution choice, but it worked out. Portis normally backs up Lopez but considering the Milwaukee Bucks had the size advantage, it turned out to be the right move.

Portis posted a double-double of 10 points and 12 rebounds. Bobby was also in the game for the final minute and pulled down the rebound on Lavine’s game-tying three-point attempt.
