There are a lot of unknowns surrounding the Green Bay Packers and their plans for the 2022 NFL Draft. Especially the first round.

Green Bay currently has the 22nd and 28th overall picks, as well as two other second-rounders and two fourth-round picks. That gives them plenty of ammunition to trade up in any of the rounds or move their picks for a proven veteran.

As we wait for all of that to sort itself out, let’s check out the top targets Green Bay will likely target at either or both of their first-round spots.

The Green Bay Packers will certainly have these players as their top ten targets in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

There are a few positions we can rule out Green Bay targeting in the first round so let’s start there. It’s safe to say the Packers won’t be grabbing a quarterback, running back, interior offensive line, linebacker and tight end due to their current roster. It’s probably also safe to remove cornerback from this list, although that’s not completely out of the question.

Next, we’ll mostly use Relative Athletic Scores (RAS) to guide us toward the players whom the Packers favor. Green Bay has tended to grab stud athletes, especially in the first round, so we’ll move the players who tested well athletically up the list. However, not every guy on the top targets meets that criteria. Some of them are just too good of players at positions of need to pass up.

That leaves us with around ten players who the Packers should have at or near the top of their list for the first round. Of course, the draft is volatile and seems to be at an all-time high of unpredictability this year so anything could happen.

  • Daxton Hill, S, Michigan
  • Lewis Cine, S, Georgia
  • David Ojabo, ED, Michigan
  • Georg Karlafitis, ED, Purdue
  • Jermaine Johnson II, ED, Florida St
  • Jordan Davis, DL, Georgia
  • Devonte Wyatt, DL, Georgia
  • Chris Olave, WR, Ohio State
  • Treylon Burks, WR, Arkansas
  • George Pickens, WR, Georgia

What it would cost Packers to trade up from 28. dark. Next

Considering the state of the wide receivers in Green Bay, it’s probably a lock that they’ll draft at least one receiver in the first. Chris Olave would be my preference and he seems to fit with what the Packers are looking for at every level. Let’s sit back, (try to) relax, and enjoy the next two weeks until the Draft.
