The Green Bay Packers should call the Houston Texans if the Jets decline to trade.

The Texans traded disgruntled and controversial quarterback Deshaun Watson to the Cleveland Browns. They seem set to move forward with second-year quarterback Davis Mills.

The Texans have needs at pretty much every position. Houston is already picking at number three in the first round. Thanks to the Watson trade, the Texans will be back on the clock at 13.

Gutekunst could see if the Texans want some more spins in the first round with this offer:

At pick 13 in the first round, The Green Bay Packers are still in a good spot to get one of the top receivers in the draft. The Packers could roll the dice on Alabama’s Jameson Williams. He is coming off a torn ACL in the National Championship Game but could be ready by the time the season starts or just a bit after. Georgia defensive tackles Devonte Wyatt or Jordan Davis might also be worth considering.

Once again, if the Texans prefer to only pay two first-round picks, the Green Bay Packers could offer this package that would be accepted according to the mock draft simulator:

This trade gives the Texans two more additional top-100 picks plus they still have an extra first-rounder. Making this trade gives the Texans six top-100 picks in total.

For a team with lots of needs, the Texans would be wise to consider moving down.

The Green Bay Packers should call the Baltimore Ravens if the Texans prefer to stay at pick 13.

Injuries derailed the Ravens at the end of the 2021 season. The Ravens might be thinking of staying at pick number 14 if there is a player they think can put them over the top.

The Ravens could also be thinking it might not be a bad idea to trade back and get a few more picks for depth purposes.

The Green Bay Packers could offer this package to move up:

If the Ravens balk at giving back a second-round pick, this other trade offer works according to the mock draft simulator:

The Green Bay Packers might choose to keep both their picks but making these calls gives the Packers a better shot at an impact player. With limited cap space, the Packers need the draft now more than ever to find top-of-the-line talent.
