Pick 22: Drake London, WR, USC

Pick 28: Chris Olave, WR, Ohio State

Takeaway: My goodness! I don’t know how realistic this mock draft is, but if you want the Packers to fix the wide receiver position, then this is the draft for you. The reason I say I’m not sure how realistic this is is that in just about every other mock draft, London is long gone before 22, and Olave is long gone before pick 28. Although I just said I don’t believe the Packers would spend their two first-round picks on receivers, this combo would be difficult to pass up.

Pick 22: George Karlaftis, Edge, Purdue

Pick 28: George Pickens, WR, Georgia

Edge depth is a big need for the Green Bay Packers and landing Karlaftis at 22 felt a bit like a steal. He was a highly productive player at Purdue, effective against both the run and the pass, and the Packers can move him inside as well–just as they do with Rashan Gary and did with Za’Darius Smith.

Then at pick 28, I took Pickens, who like a few others in this article, feels like a Packers selection. He is young, has good size, is athletic with good speed, and was productive while at Georgia. Green Bay needs someone who can be “the guy” at receiver, and Pickens certainly has that potential–and could do so right away.
