Milwaukee Brewers came back after being down seven runs to pummel the Cubs 15-7 on June 30th, 2021.

The Chicago Cubs and Milwaukee Brewers were tied for first place in the NL Central on June 24th. The Cubs dropped three straight to the Los Angeles Dodgers ahead of this pivotal series at American Family Field.

The Brewers took the first two games of the series. It looked like the Cubs would cruise to an easy victory to salvage a win out of the series.

The Cubs got to rookie pitcher Aaron Ashby in the first inning. They went off for seven runs on the youngster who made his first career start.

The Milwaukee Brewers came right back and rocked Cubs pitcher Jake Arrieta for six runs in the game’s first two innings.

The Brewers opened things up even more in the fourth inning by scoring eight runs. Willy Adames capped off the inning with a grand slam.

The Cubs became the second team in over 121 years to score seven or more runs in the first running and then go on to lose by seven runs.

The Brewers’ victory also helped the Cubs’ season to continue to spiral out of control. The Cubs’ losing streak reached 11-games and Chicago dropped out of the race for the NL Central crown. The Milwaukee Brewers ended up with
