The 2022 NFL Draft is one of the hardest to predict in some time. Depending on whose draft ranking you look at, you’re likely to get inconsistency all over the place. But have no fear, I scoured three of the biggest draft rankings on the internet to put together a 16-man Big Board for the Green Bay Packers.

With the 22nd and 29th selections in the first round, as well as plenty of draft capital to trade up, I tried to hit on a wide array of players from who Green Bay would have to trade up to select to players who should be there no matter what when they’re on the clock at pick no. 22 and even no. 29.

I started by using PFF’s Big Board, Daniel Jeremiah’s top 50 rankings (NFL.com) and Mel Kiper‘s top 25. From there, I eliminated the following 10 players based on being in the top 12 of all three lists as I predict it’s unlikely the Packers trade into the top 10 if they do make a move.

  • Aidan Hutchinson, ED, Michigan
  • Kyle Hamilton, S, Notre Dame
  • Kayvon Thibodeaux, ED, Oregon
  • Ikem Ekwonu, OT, North Carolina St
  • Evan Neal, OT, Alabama
  • Sauce Gardner, CB, Cincinnati
  • Drake London, WR, USC
  • Garrett Wilson, WR, OSU
  • Dax Hill, S, Michigan
  • Kenny Picket, QB, Pittsburgh

Next, I removed these 10 players from the Packers’ Big Board, as they play a position that Green Bay probably won’t address in the first round:

  • Derek Stingley Jr., CB, LSU
  • Trent McDuffie, CB, Washington
  • Devin Loyd, LB, Utah
  • Nakobe Dean, LB, Georgia
  • Tyler Linderbaum, C, Iowa
  • Sam Howell, QB, UNC
  • Malik Willis, QB, Liberty
  • Andrew Booth Jr., CB, Clemson
  • Lewis Cine, S, Georgia
  • Kaiir Elam, CB, Florida

That leaves me with 16 players who Green Bay will likely take a long look at for one of their first-round selections. I ranked them in descending order based on who they would draft if all the guys were still there when they get on the clock. So, without further ado, let’s dive in!

Let’s rank the top 2022 NFL Draft prospects who have a possibility of being available when the Green Bay Packers are on the clock.

Packers draft Big Board: 16: Zion Johnson, G, Boston College

It may be odd to kick off this list with a guard, but I don’t think it’s out of the realm of possibilities. The Packers released Billy Turner and are in need of a right tackle–a position Elgton Jenkins could very well fill when he returns to full health. In that scenario, Green Bay would need another guard to slide in on the left side.

Zion Johnson had a monster 2021 campaign and could start for the Packers from Day 1. He has great physicality and can win at the point of attack. He still needs to work on his awareness, but he’d immediately help Green Bay address a major need upfront.
