Green Bay has a history of being unpredictable under general manager Brian Gutekunst that including making a plethora of trades and grabbing players that aren’t on fan’s general radar. He’s even snagged projects such as Rashan Gary that have come to fruition in a big, big way.

If the Packers go the high-risk, high-reward route this year, here are four players they could take a look at in the first round.

The NFL Draft is always difficult to predict, but here are 4 prospects the Green Bay Packers could take in the first-round who are high-risk, high-reward.

High-risk, high-reward draft prospects for Packers: Trevor Penning, OT, Northern Iowa

After releasing Billy Turner, it’s not inconceivable to think the Packers could grab an offensive tackle with one of their top picks. That likely depends on what they see Elgton Jenkins’ role being in the future.

If they do go with an offensive tackle Trevor Penning could be on their shortlist. Penning isn’t elite at any one skill, instead, he does a lot of things well. The inability to rely on an elite skill could cause him issues if he doesn’t have something to fall back on while going through the rookie learning curve.
