Packers 3-round 2022 NFL Mock Draft: Defense wins championships
Packers mock draft: Round 1, pick 28: Devonte Wyatt, DL, Georgia
The Packers lessened their need for a defensive lineman when they signed Jarran Reed in free agency. However, Devonte Wyatt would give them even better depth and the ability to cut Dean Lowry to free up cap space for other free agent additions.
Devonte Wyatt can line up anywhere along the line and can easily play alongside Kenny Clark. He has a great first step off the line of scrimmage and puts pressure on the offensive line immediately. He still has something to learn about pass-rushing moves, but he’d be an instant upgrade over anybody not named Clark on the Packers’ defensive line.
Packers mock draft: Round 1, pick 22: Chris Olave, WR, Ohio State
This is supposed to be a defensive-minded mock draft, but I couldn’t ignore the Packers’ biggest need-wide receiver. Chris Olave was still on the board when Green Bay was on the clock with their first pick at no. 22 overall so I grabbed him.
Olave would address the Packers’ speed issue at the position and give Green Bay an offensive weapon they desperately need. If he’s still there at 22, it’s a no brainer for the Packers and an immediate home run.
