Pick 22: Logan Hall, IDL, Houston

Pick 28: Jahan Dotson, WR, Penn State

Takeaways: Well, here is a change of pace from what we are used to seeing. Even with the addition of Jarran Reed, the Green Bay Packers interior defensive line room is thin, with only five players on the roster at the moment. According to PFF ($$), Hall logged 29 pressures and six sacks last season, he also can play up and down the defensive front.

Dotson is a popular pick for Green Bay in mock drafts, and while he was a highly targeted and highly productive receiver at Penn State, I’m not so sure he is on the Packers’ board. Dotson didn’t test all that well at the combine, and he is on the smaller side as well–and we all know that the Packers love big-bodied receivers.

Pick 22: Jahan Dotson, WR, Penn State

Pick 28: Zion Johnson, IOL, Boston College

Takeaways: You already know my thoughts on Dotson, while Zion Johnson is about as close as you can get to feeling certain about a draft pick. He has experience at both tackle and guard and comes from Boston College’s pro-style offense. He is absolutely a Day 1 starter. However, do the Packers spend a first-round pick on a potential IOL? Their history says they won’t, especially after spending six draft picks on the IOL the last two years.

Pick 22: Bernhard Raimann, OT, Central Michigan

Pick 28: Christian Watson, WR, North Dakota State

Takeaways: Raimann is coming off a very impressive 2021 season, and as a former tight end, he moves very well for an offensive tackle. With that said, he is going to be 25 years old shortly after the season begins, and it’s worth noting that Green Bay typically doesn’t draft older players. When it comes to Watson, if the Packers want him, I do believe they’ll have to spend their first-round pick on him or be prepared to move up in Round 2.
