Green Bay Packers LB Prospect #2 – Devin Lloyd

If you’re looking for a guy with great college production, then look no further than Devin Lloyd.

He’s been a three year starter at Utah and had at least 10 tackles for loss in each of those seasons, even 2020, when Utah only played five games. His senior year starts are absolutely off the charts. He had 111 tackles, 22 of them for loss, seven sacks, six pass breakups, and four interceptions, two of which he took back for touchdowns.

He was absolutely everywhere for this Utah team, and that’s not just a figure of speech either. In addition to his main spot at inside linebacker, he played plenty of snaps on the edge too and held his own playing on the line of scrimmage.

Like Dean, he has great speed and athleticism that he can use very well in man coverage and he has great hands as well. He isn’t the explosive blitzer that Dean is, doesn’t have the same trait for shooting gaps in pass protection, and really isn’t the best as an edge rusher either.

However, even though he has a pretty lean build for a linebacker at 6’3″ 235 pounds, he’s not afraid to be physical in the box when he plays the run. He’s strong on the edge and doesn’t let the play get outside of him and makes it squeeze back to the middle and does a great job getting off blocks with his athleticism.

He does have a tendency to get lost on misdirection at times. Hopefully, that would be something he’d clean up early in his career, because his physical tools and production are both about as good as it gets.
