Under the radar free agents Packers should target: DeShon Elliott, S

Similar to edge, the Packers have their starters solidified at safety in Darnell Savage and Adrian Amos. The two basically play every snap on defense and there isn’t room to replace them on the field.

However, the Packers love to run multiple defensive back alignments and need a third safety who is a capable option–Vernon Scott is not the option. Elliott can share the field with Savage and Amos when the situation calls for it. He’s a solid option to line up as the lone deep safety and he can cover tight ends. That gives defensive coordinator Joe Barry good versatility to move his safeties and defensive backs around the field.
