Packers Mock Draft, Round 2, Pick 59: Jalen Tolbert, WR, South Carolina

With their second pick in the second round, Green Bay grabs a wide receiver in South Carolina’s Jalen Tolbert. Tolbert has a good combination of size (6-foot-3) and speed and is able to easily outrun his man to get open deep. He had a whopping 16 deep receptions in 2021 which ranked fifth in the NCAA. That’s exactly what the doctor ordered for the Packers who just lost their only deep threat in Marquez Valdes-Scantling. Tolbert will have to clean up his route running, but that’s what NFL coaching is for.

Packers Mock Draft, Round 2, Pick 53: Nik Bonitto, Ed, Oklahoma

Okay, the way the board fell at pick no. 53 made it impossible for me to ignore the defensive side of the ball. Besides, Green Bay has a glaring need at edge as they have nobody they can trust behind Rashan Gary and Preston Smith.

Bonitto is a pass-rush specialist and can give Smith and Gary some breaks on third downs and when the Packers are ahead. He gets off the line of scrimmage quickly and has a huge arsenal of moves to beat opposing offensive tackles.
