Free agent options for Green Bay Packers at WR

Sammy Watkins

Sammy Watkins is a big name, but he hasn’t produced all that much in recent years. After recording a 1,000-yard season with Buffalo in 2015, Watkins hasn’t been particularly close since then. His next most productive season in terms of yards came in 2019 with Kansas City, when he had 673 yards on 52 receptions.

In 2020, however, he would total just 421 yards and then only 394 with Baltimore last year. Watkins also hasn’t played in a full regular season since his rookie year, including just 23 games over the last two seasons.

TY Hilton

In his prime, TY Hilton was a big-play threat, averaging 16.0 yards per catch over his first seven seasons, and he even led the NFL in receiving in 2016. As recently as 2020, Hilton posted 762 receiving yards, although that total plummeted to 331 yards in 2021 after he appeared in only 10 games–although Hilton still averaged 14.4 yards per catch.

Like a few others on this list, the expectation shouldn’t be that the Green Bay Packers are getting the TY Hilton from 2015, but the hope is that he could regain some of that old form in LaFleur’s offense with Aaron Rodgers as the quarterback.
