Although the offseason is only a few weeks old, the Green Bay Packers have a glaring hole at wide receiver and disappearing resources to address it.

After trading away Davante Adams, Green Bay has a clear need for a no. 1 wide receiver and pass-catcher on their team. They were in talks with Marquez Valdes-Scantling–someone who was previously their no. 2/3–to fill that void but he decided to sign with the Kansas City Chiefs.

That leaves the Packers with a big issue. Fortunately, they have a number of months and assets to fill the void. Let’s check out 14 players via various routes that could step in and become the Packers’ top wideout.

The Green Bay Packers could turn to any of these 14 players to be their new number one wide receiver for the 2022 season.

Candidates to be Packers no. 1 WR: Allen Lazard

The only one on the current roster who could fill that void is Allen Lazard. Lazard has been a do-it-all type of receiver for the Packers over the last couple of years and will be in for a larger role regardless of what else happens. Unfortunately, the Packers are in big trouble if he’s sitting alone atop their depth chart when the games begin.
