Reason Packers should not trade Jordan Love: Youth and promise

Love is only 23-years-old and entering his third NFL season–second really if you take out his actually rookie year in which he didn’t get any preseason or live game action. There’s plenty of time for him to develop and establish himself in the NFL.

Rodgers didn’t take over as the starter until his fourth year in the NFL and Love still has time to do the same. Rodgers took a long time to decide if he was going to retire this season and there’s no saying if he’ll actually pull the trigger next year or the year after.

If he does, Green Bay would be wise to keep Love waiting in the wings. He has a live arm, above-average athleticism, and is entering his third season in the same program. The Packers should give him time to fully develop and figure out what type of player he can become before moving on from him.
