Packers who need salary cap clarity for 2022 offseason: Adrian Amos
Packers who need salary cap clarity for 2022 offseason: Dean Lowry
The Packers, at times, took a step forward on defense last year and were especially stout in their lone playoff game against the San Francisco 49ers when they didn’t give up a touchdown. They are already going to be hard-pressed to keep key contributors such as Rasul Douglas and De’Vondre Campbell and losing any other talent will be even more detrimental.
Green Bay could look to restructure Amos’ contract and save up to $4.785 million in the process. This would allow them to keep a critical part of their defense and a safety who appears to just be hitting his stride in the NFL.
Lowry finished 2021 on a high note and played amazing over the second half of the season. That’s likely the difference between him getting cut or restructured. He has an $8.072 million cap hit in 2022 that could be reduced by as much as $3.386 million via a restructure.
