Green Bay Packers Free Agent: Rasul Douglas

Spotract Market Value Projection: $9.2 million per year on a 4-year deal

Plain and simple, the Green Bay Packers do not go 13-4 last season without the addition of Rasul Douglas. With Jaire Alexander injured, Eric Stokes still developing, and no other reliable presence to really lean on heavily, Douglas provided some much-needed stability and playmaking abilities to this defense.

In coverage, Douglas was targeted 66 times and allowed a completion rate of just 51.5% and 10.6 yards per catch. He also came away with seven pass breakups and five interceptions — tied for the fourth-most in football — including a few pick-sixes.

The Green Bay Packers may have Alexander and Stokes, but cornerback is once again a big need for this defense. Other than those two, the only other players under contract at the moment are Shemar Jean Charles, Kiondre Thomas, and Kabion Ento, who combined have 38 career defensive snaps, according to PFF. Last season specifically, we all saw how important it was to have reliable depth at the cornerback position.

A trio of Stokes, Alexander, and Douglas would give Green Bay perhaps the best cornerback trio in football, but given their salary cap situation, can they afford to pay Douglas along with all of the other moves they have to make?
