Potential Davante Adam’s replacement for Packers: Marquez Valdes-Scantling

If Green Bay is looking in-house to replace Adams’ production, Valdes-Scantling probably has the best shot. He’s a free agent this offseason so Green Bay would have to figure out a way to retain his services, but that would come much, much cheaper than Adams.

Valdes-Scantling wasn’t as dynamic in 2021 as many had hoped. I predicted he’d have a 1,000-yard season and he didn’t even come close. Part of that was due to injuries, as he only appeared in 11 of the 17 games. However, he also didn’t come to play as he did in past.

Valdes-Scantling did seem to figure out the issue he had with drops and showed very good hands throughout training camp and into the season. With an expanded role, he could become Rodgers’ go-to guy and someone who can beat defenses at all three levels.
