Aaron Rodgers wants nothing to do with a rebuild so the chances of these two teams acquiring Rodgers is slim to none. Going back to the hypothetical situation that Rodgers gives Gutenkust free reign to talk with teams to get the best trade package back, these two teams should be called.

Green Bay Packers Trade Partner: New York Giants

The Giants have two top-10 picks in this year’s draft. They have the fifth (their own pick) and seventh pick (the pick they acquired from the Bears) in the draft. This one would not be completely crazy. New York just hired Brian Daboll to be its head coach. He is an offensive genius who developed Josh Allen in Buffalo, so imagine what he could do with Rodgers running his offense.

The Giants also have two third-round picks and two fifth-round picks in this year’s draft. The Packers could get two top-10 picks and a couple of extra picks in this year’s draft along with a first-rounder next season. The Giants get a quarterback they have desperately needed since Eli Manning retired.

The problem of this ever becoming a reality is that the Giants are in the middle of a huge rebuild and are currently $12 million over the salary cap.

Green Bay Packers Trade Partner: Carolina Panthers

The Panthers swung and missed when they traded for Sam Darnold last offseason. Panthers head coach Matt Rhule is desperate to save his job so he could try to take another big swing and trade the number six pick along with two other future first-round picks.

The Panthers do not have a second or third-round choice this year. The only way this trade happens is if Rhule was desperate enough to put together a huge trade offer. Plus, he would have to find ways to grow his $16 million cap space to afford Rodgers and the talent needed to contend with him.
