The Milwaukee Brewers could sign Jorge Soler

The World Series MVP is still on the market. He will be 30 entering the 2022 season and could be signed for about the same price as Cruz.

He started off 2021 horribly with the Kansas City Royals. He went on a tear though, once he joined the Atlanta Braves.

He hit .269 with 14 home runs. His slash line was .358/.524/.882 in 55 games for Atlanta. He does lack plate discipline, with 696 career strikeouts in eight seasons. He did hit 48 home runs in 2019.

Soler is enticing if he can hit somewhere between his 2019 production and what we saw in Atlanta.

He can also play right field if needed so he provides more positional versatility than Cruz. Soler also possesses two World Series rings.

Fangraphs projects he will hit 33 homers and post a 1.6 WAR.

The Milwaukee Brewers could add left-handed power hitter Kyle Schwarber

Schwarber went from being non-tendered by the Chicago Cubs last offseason to an All-Star in 2021. He split time between the Washington Nationals and the Boston Red Sox.

He blasted 32 home runs and was a 3.1 WAR. He posted a career-high .928 OPS–a statistic Stearns loves.

Plus, he is a left-handed bat and will be 29 at the start of the season. Fangraphs also projects he will hit 35 home runs this season.

He can play some outfield as well. The concern with Schwarber is his bat can go on prolonged slumps. Also, his numbers may have benefited from hitting at Nationals and Fenway Park.

He does have a World Series ring and brings a lot of power that the Milwaukee Brewers lineup could use.
