Players Packers can extend: Adrian Amos

Salary Cap Savings: $5.1 million

The Packers would hate to lose Adrian Amos despite the decent salary cap relief it would provide (more on that in a second). Amos has been solid in the secondary, even as fellow safety Darnell Savage has taken a large number of lumps in his learning curve. The veteran of the duo has been able to play all over the field and help Green Bay out in a plethora of ways.

If the Packers were to cut him outright, they could save $4.65 million–that number would jump ever so slightly to $4.785 million if they were to restructure his deal. However, their biggest savings would actually come if they were to extend his contract. That sounds like a win-win for both sides and something the Packers should actively pursue.
