Packers who could be sleeper salary cap casualties: Adrian Amos

Cap Number: $11,982,000

Dead Money: $7,328,000

Cap Savings: $4,654,000

The Packers would end up eating more money than they saved with this cut, but it can’t be removed from the realm of possibilities.

Adrian Amos has been solid in the secondary since his arrival with the great free agent class of 2019 that also included Billy Turner, Preston Smith and Za’Darius Smith. With Darnell Savage showing flashes of brilliance followed by long lapses of poor play, Amos has quietly become one of the better safeties in the NFL. He can do a little bit of everything for the defense and this would be a huge loss. Perhaps, an extension would be a better route that would also save the Packers more money.
