The NBA trade deadline season is officially upon us as the Milwaukee Bucks and other teams have until Thursday, February 10th to strike a deal.

The Bucks are currently 0.5 games behind first place in the Eastern Conference heading into the week, but that can change on a whim. Milwaukee is tied for third, but there are only 1.5 games separating the top five teams in the East.

On the Bucks’ wish list for positions to improve down the stretch is another guard for the second unit and a big body in case Brook Lopez doesn’t return from injury. Matt Moore of Action Network reported the Bucks are one of two teams with an offer on the table for Boston Celtics’ guard Dennis Schröder (the Chicago Bulls are the other one).

Boston is looking to cut salary and get under the luxury tax and moving Schröder appears to be an easy way to accomplish that. Let’s take a look at three potential deals Milwaukee could try to swing to land themselves a lead guard for the second unit.

The Milwaukee Bucks are reportedly connected to a possible trade for Dennis Schröder and here are three proposals they could put together.

Bucks trade offer: George Hill, Jordan Nwora, and 2023 2nd round draft pick for Schröder

I’ll start by saying poor George Hill. The Bucks continue to dangle him in trade talks after trading him a couple of years ago for Jrue Holiday and then signing him as a free agent this offseason. Hill is solid, but as unsexy as they come. He can defend multiple positions, knows his role on offense, but isn’t splashy–leaving plenty of room for an upgrade (and a downgrade, to be fair).

Adding Jordan Nwora and a 2023 second-rounder (the Bucks forfeited their 2022 second-round selection due to “tampering” with Bogdan Bogdanovic) could help sweeten the pot for Boston. None of those guys are going to push them over the top, but it allows them to cut salary and recoup some additional assets.
