Green Bay Packers 2021 Season Review: Interior Offensive Line
By Paul Bretl
Green Bay Packers center: Josh Myers
Throughout the offseason programs, training camp, and the preseason, we heard nothing but good things about Josh Myers. In the grand scheme of things, we saw very little of Myers this season due to him missing time with a knee injury. However, what we did see was very promising and it looks like Green Bay found their next center for the foreseeable future.
According to PFF, Myers didn’t allow a sack and gave up nine pressures in 214 pass-block snaps. In watching Myers, it’s clear that he brings a level of athleticism to the center position.
Looking ahead, like many other young linemen, run-blocking is one area in particular that he can improve upon. Myers, along with the rest of the offensive line, also benefited greatly from the quick passing game.
As I mentioned, Myers is the Green Bay Packers starting center moving forward, and with that, it’s important to keep in mind that he only has 349 career snaps–so there is still going to be a learning curve that Myers is going to have to navigate on the fly.
