Bold predictions for Packers’ offseason: Extend Aaron Rodgers

At $46.7 million, Rodgers has a massive cap hit for the Packers in the 2022 season. He could throw a bone to the team and greatly reduce that number by signing a contract extension.

If the two sides agreed to an extension, it would signal that they’ve fully moved past the issues that plagued them last summer. It would also likely signal the end of the Jordan Love era before it ever even started.

This deal could benefit both parties as it would reaffirm the Packers’ confidence in Rodgers for the next few years and prevent him from becoming a lame-duck quarterback. Following the Tom Brady model and taking less money would be perfect for both sides–or at least for the Packers.
