Big Question No. 5 for the Green Bay Packers: What will be the biggest positions of need?

Obviously, this is largely dependent upon who is brought back and how free agency plays out, but right now, edge rusher, wide receiver, and tight end are a few that come to mind.

If Green Bay chooses to move on from both Preston Smith and Za’Darius Smith, edge rusher becomes priority No. 1 with Rashan Gary as the only reliable player on the roster at that position. As it currently stands at receiver, the only players under contract for 2022 are Randall Cobb — a likely cut candidate — Amari Rodgers, and practice squad players Chris Blair and Rico Gafford.

If neither Robert Tonyan nor Marcedes Lewis is back, the Packers will be thin at tight end and could really use a true pass-catcher at the position–we all saw how much the offense missed Tonyan when he was out. On top of that, it’s never a bad idea to bolster offensive line depth or the interior defensive line room either.

We will have to wait and see how this offseason plays out, but regardless of what happens, these handful of positions are likely to remain needs, but the question is to what degree?
