Players Packers can cut to save salary cap space: Preston Smith

We all know these next two guys on the list are likely going to be salary cap casualties this offseason.

Preston Smith renegotiated his deal last offseason to stay in Green Bay one more season and responded terrifically on the field. After a down 2020 campaign, he bounced back in a major way by posting nine sacks and 28 quarterback pressures. He was also solid against the run.

However, the Packers can save a whopping $12.5 million if they cut him which is too large of a number to avoid. He’s likely gone and searching for a new contract after proving he still has enough game left in his tank.
