Packers who disappointed in 2021 season: Amari Rodgers

Agh, Amari Rodgers. What an unfortunately perfect example of the Packers’ special teams woes this season. Not saying he was solely responsible for all the special team’s units sucking, but he was a big reason the punt return team was mostly inept throughout the season.

Rodgers was the Packers’ third-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft and many thought he was going to be a good fit on the team. He could slide into the slot and be someone who could also fill the Tyler Ervin role for the team.

Unfortunately, he was never able to prove that he belonged on the field for the offense. Despite suiting up for 16 games, he only saw 103 total snaps on offense–with 31 coming against the Lions in Week 18, 16 coming against the Cardinals when the Packers’ wide receivers were hit hard with COVID and 15 coming in the season-opening blowout. There’s only one way for him to go from here.
