Packers who disappointed in 2021 season: Marquez Valdes-Scantling

I was, perhaps single-handily, driving the hype machine for Marquez Valdes-Scantling heading into the season and it’s safe to say he burned me. The reports throughout training camp were that his hands were greatly improved which led me to believe he could take the next step and continue to be a legit deep threat for the Packers.

None of that came to fruition, in part, due to injuries. Valdes-Scantling only played 11 games this season and that includes the finalé against Detroit in which he left early. That caused him to put up career-lows in receptions (26) and yards (430). He actually finished the season without a drop, but wasn’t able to be the consistent deep threat he was in years past.
