Packers who disappointed in 2021 season: Josiah Deguara

This pick was confusing when Green Bay used a third round selection in the 2020 NFL Draft on fullback/tight end Josiah Deguara and it hasn’t improved with time.

In 16 games this season, Deguara only saw 33 targets, catching 25 of them for 245 yards and two touchdowns. He had a number of key drops in there and failed to do anything of note after the catch, breaking just one tackle on his 25 receptions.

His run blocking was adequate, but he provided very little in the form of pass protection. I think the Packers envisioned him as being a Kyle Juszczyk type weapon, but he’s never developed into anything close to that. He’s lucky he’s on a cheap rookie deal for two more seasons because Green Bay hasn’t been able to find an adequate way to use him yet.
