Packers with most to lose in playoffs: Dean Lowry

Dean Lowry has been underwhelming for most of his Packers’ career, but may have found something with his great play of late. He finished the season with a PFF grade of 66.7, ranking 35th among 128 qualified interior defensive linemen. However, he’s been at his best over the final five games of the regular season. During that time he’s racked up 14 hurries, two sacks and 17 total pressures.

At 6-foot-6 and 296 pounds, it’s almost as if Lowry forgets he’s a very large man. He’s remembered that more often lately and has used his strong bull rush to get pressure on the quarterback. He’s under contract with the Packers next year, but could be a cut-candidate if they don’t feel he’s worth the money. That could be a difference of about $4 million for Lowry next year.
