Who will punt for the Green Bay Packers?

Like just about every team around the NFL, the Green Bay Packers have had to place several players on the reserve/COVID list over the last week, including punter Corey Bojorquez.

Despite the overall ups and downs on special teams this season, Bojorquez has been one of the steady bright spots, showcasing his ability to hit just about any punt, whether that’s a 72-yarder, a directional kick towards the sidelines, or pinning the opponent inside their own 10-yard line.

Now, there still is the possibility that Bojorquez could suit up given the new COVID-19 guidelines, but if he can’t, who’s going to punt for Green Bay? And perhaps more importantly, who is going to be the holder on field goal and extra-point attempts?

Special teams coordinator, Maurice Drayton, would mention that the team is holding tryouts with several players already on the roster for the job of backup holder in case Bojorquez can’t play. Green Bay would also workout punter Johnny Townsend on Friday as well. Townsend has 85 career punt attempts and has averaged 43.3 yards per kick with an average hang time of 4.23 seconds, according to PFF.

Hopefully, Bojorquez is able to suit up, but if he can’t, then an already questionable special teams unit will have another big question mark to deal with.

Bonus Question: Can the Packers clinch the NFC’s one-seed?

In order to do so, the Green Bay Packers will have to win on Sunday and also receive some help from Arizona, who will need to defeat Dallas earlier in the day.
