Solutions for Packers’ special teams: Sign Tyler Ervin

Both kick and punt returns have been one of the biggest issues for the Packers this season. It would be one thing if they ranked last in the NFL in return yards (which they do, coming in at 30th in kickoff return average and 32nd in punt return average). However, it’s an even bigger issue when their punt and kick returners can’t field the ball consistently.

Amari Rodgers was drafted in the third round last year to provide depth at wide receiver and as the team’s punt returner. However, he’s struggled big time to even field punts and when he does attempt to catch them it can be an entire event.

With Randall Cobb out for an extended period of time, it’s time Green Bay brings back Tyler Ervin. Ervin provided Green Bay with a special teams’ spark in 2019 and could do so once again this year. He’d immediately solidify one of the biggest special teams’ weaknesses.
