Positions Packers could target in 2022 NFL Draft: Wide receiver

Fans have been screaming for the Packers to draft a wide receiver in the first round for what feels like forever. It’s part of what stirred the drama between Aaron Rodgers and the franchise back in 2020 when the team traded up in the first round to draft quarterback Jordan Love. How ironic would it be if they finally selected one the year Rodgers possibly leaves.

Also of note is Davante Adams’ free agent status. Adams is an unrestricted free agent this offseason and is predicted to get a monster contract. Even if he returns, the Packers could use some additional insurance at the position with Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Equanimous St. Brown and Allen Lazard all pending free agents.

No matter who is at quarterback in 2022 and beyond, the Packers need to start restocking talent at the position. Whether that’s a first-round selection or later in the draft, don’t be surprised to see a receiver go early.
