Although the Green Bay Packers are in the midst of a late-season push for the top seed in the NFC playoffs, it’s always fun to peek ahead and see what the 2022 NFL Draft will hold.

Predicting what positions the Packers could hone in on is a bit of a moving target at this point. There have been rumors about Aaron Rodgers’ getting traded in the offseason and a plethora of free agents whose futures are unknown. Depending on who stays and goes, this list might change.

Despite all that, let’s take an entertaining look ahead to next Spring and discuss five positions the Packers could target in the 2022 NFL Draft.

There’s a lot that will happen between now and the 2022 NFL Draft, but here are five positions the Green Bay Packers could potentially target.

Positions Packers could target in 2022 NFL Draft: Tight end

The Packers thought they potentially had a long-term solution at the position in Robert Tonyan. However, Tonyan got off to a very slow start in 2021 before suffering a season-ending injury that will likely keep him out for part of next season as well. Oh, and he’s a free agent so that might not even be in Green Bay.

Marcedes Lewis is aging and isn’t much of a receiving threat at all while former third-round pick Josiah Deguara has failed to separate himself from the pack. That could mean the Packers use their pick in the late 20s/early 30s on a tight end. This position historically takes a few years to come into their own so Green Bay would try to develop him slowly, but it may be worth the long-term investment.
