Fact or fiction: Jonas Valanciunas

The Pelicans are a mess and who knows what the heck they are doing. Jonas Valanciunas would be a great fit on the Bucks, but he’s owed $14 million this season which puts him outside their price range.

Verdict: Fiction

Fact or fiction: Jusuf Nurkic

Back to the Trail Blazers. Jusuf Nurkic is another interesting piece who has some nice playmaking and passing abilities in his repertoire. Injuries have sapped him of a lot of his athleticism, but he could be serviceable alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo in the frontcourt. His salary is the biggest barrier.

Verdict: Fiction

Fact or fiction: Myles Turner

The Indiana Pacers have been hot with trade rumors, as they are reportedly looking to blow up the team. Myles Turner also recently said he thinks Indiana treats him as a glorified role player and not a star. Well, it wouldn’t get any better on the Bucks where he’d be at least the fourth fiddle (if not lower). That’s not even getting into that the Bucks would have to convince the suddenly rebuilding Pacers to take on Brook Lopez in any potential deal.

Verdict: Fiction

Next. 7 quick thoughts about Bucks signing Cousins. dark

As you can see, there were basically all fictions among these 11 players. Basically, what I’m trying to say is it will be very difficult for Milwaukee to make any trade this season. Jon Horst will certainly work his tail off to make something happen, but the player has to be in the correct price range (presumably less than $9 million) in order for the stars to align. We’ll see if that’s possible as the deadline nears in February.
