Players that will determine Packers’ success: Marquez Valdes-Scantling

There’s no doubt Davante Adams will come to play over the final five games of the season. The question is: Who else will step up?

Opposing defenses will key in on Adams and make Aaron Rodgers go elsewhere with the rock. That hasn’t exactly been successful in the past, as Adams has been so good it hasn’t mattered. However, the Packers need to have a backup plan.

With tight end Robert Tonyan out for the season and Randall Cobb now out indefinitely, Green Bay needs to look elsewhere for another productive pass-catcher. Marquez Valdes-Scantling is the best remaining option and must come ready to play. He’s been very inconsistent throughout his career, but possesses the best speed on the team. He’s their only true deep threat who can blow the top off the defense and Green Bay needs to take advantage of that.
