Players that will determine Packers’ success: Rashan Gary

Some of the most successful teams over the years have been ones that can wreak havoc in the backfield and get constant pressure on opposing quarterbacks. The Packers are all too familiar with this as they struggled with this in last year’s NFC Championship game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

There are still a lot of unknowns about Za’Darius Smith and whether he’ll be able to return this season. Regardless of his availability, the Packers will lean heavily on Rashan Gary. Gary has been a rising star for the team this year and has come up with a number of big plays—the most recent example being a strip-sack against the Rams that Preston Smith recovered and returned inside the 10-yard-line.

Gary is coming off a painful arm injury and hopefully the extra week off helped him heal up. He’ll be counted on to come up with gigantic plays down the stretch and be a consistent disruptor for the defense.
