The Green Bay Packers have positioned themselves nicely through the first 12 games of the season, but still have a lot of work to do to finish out the year. At 9-3, they sit in second place in the NFC and may need to win out to get the top seed and only first-round bye on this side of the playoff bracket.

The Packers currently trail the 10-2 Arizona Cardinals, a team they beat on the road earlier this season, and need them to lose at least one other game to surpass them. Fortunately, Green Bay’s schedule turns for the better following their bye week as they host Chicago, play at Baltimore, vs Cleveland, vs Minnesota and at Detroit in their final five games.

In order for Green Bay to run the table, they must accomplish these four tasks.

If the Green Bay Packers want to win out on their way to the NFC playoffs, they must accomplish these four tasks following their bye.

Ways Packers can run the table: Consistent kicking game

The kicking game has been a complete disaster this season. There’s no ifs, ands, or buts about it. The entire operation–from the blocking up front, to the snap, to the hold, to the execution of the kicks–has been off and the Packers have left a bunch of points on the board as a result.

They must execute better over these last five games to give themselves a good chance at winning all of them. It seems like every year Mason Crosby is called upon to hit a game-winning or tying kick. In the past, there’s been a lot of confidence, but that isn’t quite the case this time around.
